We are pleased to confirm our senior program Captains and Leadership Group for the 2025/26 season.
Makinley Blows (1st XI), Ava Spiteri (2nd XI) and Sarah Curwood (3rd XI) will take the reins of each side and be supported by a newly formed leadership group. Makinley returns for her 6th season at the helm after taking over the 1st XI captaincy from Co-Head of Coaching Briana Binch in 2019 where she’s led the club to multiple premierships in that time. After a taste for leadership last season as stand in captains, both Ava and Sarah will step up into the roles permanently this season as we look to regenerate and develop additional leaders to take us into the next era of our 120 year existence. We thank Natalie Grero who previously held the role of 3rd XI Captain and played a big part in developing our next generation. We are pleased she will continue to play a mentoring role supporting our next crop of leaders.
Following the completion of 2024/25, the club prioritised the development of leadership and culture by implementing a leadership program facilitated by life member Emily Beventyre and former Victorian Captain Kelly Applebee. The group took part in three sessions where together they created fresh club values, behaviours and expectations which they will present to the club at Thursday night’s season launch.
