The 1st XI One Day Grand Final against Melbourne at the CitiPower Centre saw the Bombers take the Agnes McDonnell Trophy back to Aberfeldie Park after a dominant 153-run win over the Demons.

The Bombers were sent in and made a competitive 6/249 off their 50 overs, lead by captain and Betty Wilson Medallist Makinley Blows (79), with support from Emily Smith (47), Sam Bates (37*) Alyssa Humphries (33) and Tia Davidge (27) laying the foundation in the win.

In reply, the Demons’ chase began disastrously with Bates (2/13 off 10) removing both openers before Chloe Rafferty broke the game open from the 8th over, taking a spell of 4/2 in the space of 18 balls to leave the Demons shell-shocked at 6/23 in the 14th over.

From there, the Demons lower order fought hard before Rafferty (5/30 off 8), Katia Jomini (2/18 off 8.4) and Grace Jones (1/21) finished off proceedings, with Jomini taking the final wicket to dismiss the Demons for just 96 off 34.4 overs.

Aggie returns to Aberfledie!
